I’d like to introduce you to my raw, vegan and gluten-free version of the legendary Samoa Girl Scout Cookie. This recipe will be in my upcoming eBook! Make sure to sign up for my newsletter below to be the first to know how to win a free copy of the eBook.
Samoas are tied for first place with Thin Mints as my favorite Girl Scout cookie. Good thing I have a recipe for those babies in my eBook as well! A few of my followers have asked me for updates on my eBook so I’m going to fill everyone in on what the current status of it is. It still blows my mind that people are so excited for the release!
My target for releasing my first eBook is late January 2015. It is going to be an extension of me, a newbie raw foodist who has a colorful imagination with a passion for spreading the vegan lifestyle. I love to highlight the beautiful simplicity in whole, plant-based foods on my blog and social media, which will also be reflected in my eBook recipes.
I’ll be focusing on raw snacks for my first eBook. This will give me a chance to share so many new, as well as a few “follower favorite” recipes that can be enjoyed in abundance. I recently decided to put this eBook in the category of snacks instead of desserts. Many people view desserts as food that can only be consumed on occasion. This is not the case with my “desserts.” I always keep my recipes low in fat and when I use nuts or oil it’s in moderation, not an outrageous amount like many typical raw recipes. Nuts and oils are a healthy source of fat but I prefer to incorporate only 10% fat in my daily diet, which is optimal for my personal health.
Life is about balance, right? At one point I just wanted to get this eBook out as fast as possible, but this would have compromised the quality of my work. I’m learning to find balance between my own health, a full-time job, sharing recipes here on my blog, creating the eBook and giving my dog Miso all the snuggles he can possibly handle. I want to thrive in all these areas of my life so that I can be an inspiration to others but most importantly to inspire myself to keep following my passion.
I’ve taken my time during this process so I can put 100% of my heart and soul into these recipes. In the end I’m going to be proud of the work I accomplished and know that I gave it my all. Sometimes you need to remember to do things for yourself, not feel pressured by wanting to please others and find the perfect balance.
I am motivated every single day by the support from my social media followers and the wonderful souls that have connected with me here on my blog. Thank you for being a huge part of me discovering a hidden passion.
Please let me know if there’s anything you want to see in the eBook and what information would be helpful in the comments below. You can also just leave a note just to say hi in the comments too! I will be sharing another update next month on the eBook, until then you can subscribe to my newsletter to be the first to know how to be entered to win a free copy of my eBook! xx
